Diane Abbott’s son charged with assaulting the Police

According to The Telegraph and The Metro today, the son of Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott has been charged with biting and spitting at law enforcement officers in an altercation outside the Home Office.

So, it seems as though less than an hour after the emergency services were running towards danger to protect the British public during the recent London Bridge terrorist attack, the son of Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary was biting them.

The Telegraph says:

“The alleged assault took place on Friday – less than an hour after the London Bridge terrorist attack. The two incidents are not connected but police would have been at full stretch at the time.”

The Metro adds:

“He was accused of spitting at and punching one officer and biting the thumb of another at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.”

They went on to quote a Met Police spokesman, who said:

“James Adam Abbott-Thompson, 28, was charged on Sunday 1 December with two counts of assault by beating of an emergency services worker. He was further charged with an offence under Section 4 of the Public Order Act. He appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 December. He was granted bail and next appears at City of London Magistrates’ Court on 7 February.”

The Telegraph also notes that Ms Abbott had previously said in Parliament – during a debate she herself had called! – that “for too long, Police victims of violence have felt like second-class victims”.

So, while the Police were busy dealing with a terrorist, Diane Abbott’s son was spitting on them…

That’s a bit rich! How on earth is Diane Abbott supposed to run the Home Office & Police services when she can’t even raise her own son to respect the Police?!
